Local memory corruption via oversized EFS write
Published Feb 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Buffer overflow in the modem EFS component of Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets allows local users to corrupt memory through an oversized file write. The modem EFS write path accepts a requested data length without properly enforcing the maximum write size before operating on the file data. Low-privileged local access is required, and successful corruption can expose or alter data or interrupt the affected device.
