Memory corruption via unchecked HDCP key copy
Published Feb 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Buffer overflow in HDCP key provisioning in Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms allows local users to corrupt memory with crafted key data. The Automotive Linux key-provisioning path copies input into a buffer without checking that the destination can hold it. The operation is locally reachable without privileges or user interaction; Qualcomm reports memory corruption but does not disclose whether it causes a crash or code execution.
