Kernel denial of service via debug-register trap
Published Jan 3, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Kernel error handling in Qualcomm Snapdragon allows local users to interrupt service by triggering a debug-register trap. The kernel detects a debug-register trap raised by a user application but fails to take the required action for that exceptional condition. A locally running user application is the reachability gate, and the documented consequence is limited to loss of availability.
