CVE-2021-30265

Memory corruption via improperly validated counter address

Published Nov 12, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Memory corruption in Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms allows local users with high privileges to corrupt memory through a user-space IOCTL. The ipa3_counter_remove_hdl path in the IP Accelerator driver clears Filter and Route counter arrays using an address derived from insufficiently validated counter data. Reachability requires high local privileges and access to the affected driver; Qualcomm does not specify whether corruption yields code execution, data access, or a crash.
