Memory corruption via unchecked camera-name copy
Published Oct 20, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Qualcomm Snapdragon VR Service allows local users to corrupt memory via an oversized camera name. VR Service copies a camera name to a stack buffer without first validating that the name fits the destination. Local access to a device containing an affected Snapdragon chipset is required; Qualcomm has not disclosed whether exploitation reliably yields a crash or code execution.
