Database disclosure via unsanitized sort direction
Published Jan 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Invision Community IPS Community Suite before 4.5.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to read database data. The GETindex() method in applications/downloads/api/files.php appends the sortDir parameter directly to the SQL sort expression when sortBy is popular. Exploitation requires an API key authorized for the Downloads Files API and enables error-based disclosure of sensitive database contents.
