Internal IP disclosure via invalid API requests
Published Feb 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in HashiCorp Vault 1.4.0 through 1.5.6 and 1.6.0 through 1.6.1 allows remote attackers to read a node's internal IP address. The API request handler includes the configured API_ADDR field in responses to certain invalid HTTP requests instead of suppressing it. No authentication is required; exposure is limited to the node's internal IP address, with no reported access to stored secrets or configuration changes.
