Pre-auth RCE via GenericFilter Java deserialization
Published May 31, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Deserialization in Apache Dubbo before 2.6.9 and 2.7.9 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through generic RPC calls. The GenericFilter accepts an attacker-controlled generic=nativejava attachment and deserializes the third argument as a Java object. Reaching the sink requires a valid exposed service and method name, which the unauthenticated Dubbo Telnet interface can disclose.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
