Cross-site scripting via unsanitized sessionToken
Published Jun 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in CloverDX Server 5.9.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary script or HTML through Simple HTTP API requests. Multiple API methods reflect the sessionToken parameter into an error page without adequate output encoding, allowing attacker-controlled markup to execute in a victim browser. Exploitation requires a victim to request a crafted API URL; the documented impact is script execution in the web context with confidentiality and integrity effects, not server-side code execution.
