Restricted configuration disclosure via missing endpoint authorization
Published Nov 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Authorization bypass in Cloudera Manager 7.4.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read restricted configuration data. The /cmf/alerts/config?task= endpoint serves alert configuration to a caller who knows its direct path without verifying that the account has the required role. A read-only account is sufficient; the documented consequence is viewing configuration information, not modifying settings or interrupting service.
