Unauthenticated code execution via allowlist bypass
Published Apr 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unsafe deserialization in Apache OFBiz before 17.12.07 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through the SOAP service endpoint. SafeObjectInputStream uses an unanchored allowlist match, so type names with appended generic markup pass filtering and load gadget classes. The unauthenticated SOAPService route accepts the crafted serialized object and executes the gadget chain in the server process.
