Application crash via unchecked scanline write
Published Apr 6, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Denial of service in VIGRA Computer Vision Library 1.11.1 allows remote attackers to crash an image-processing application via a crafted image. The read_image_band() loop passes pixels to image_accessor.set through a scanline pointer advanced by an offset without checking that the destination remains in bounds. Processing the file requires user interaction or an application import and aborts the affected process, with no reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
