Code execution via DHCP client heap overflow
Published Apr 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Heap-based buffer overflow in the DHCP client in Wind River VxWorks before 6.5 allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted packets. Public advisories identify crafted-packet processing as the trigger but do not disclose the affected function, malformed field, or faulty bounds operation. The DHCP client must be enabled and reachable; successful exploitation can execute code or interrupt the affected device.
