Crash via reordered JIT array initialization operations
Published Aug 17, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Memory corruption in Firefox before 91, Firefox ESR before 78.13, and Thunderbird before 91 allows attackers to crash the application. The JIT reordering pass moves Concat between StoreElement and SetInitializedLength, so garbage collection can miss the array element and later use a moved object. Triggering requires crafted JavaScript to execute with JIT compilation; Thunderbird disables scripting while reading email, limiting exposure to browser-like contexts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
