Secret-key disclosure via lost import-time protection
Published Jun 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cleartext storage in Mozilla Thunderbird 78.8.1 through 78.10.1 allows attackers to read imported OpenPGP secret keys from local disk. The import path protects a password-protected key in RNP's temporary area, but loses that protection when exporting the key into permanent storage. Exposure requires an imported, password-protected secret key and local access to its profile; the flaw defeats master-password protection for that key.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
