CVE-2021-29954Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Credential exposure via unrestricted internal URL proxying

Published Jun 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

SSRF in Mozilla Hubs Cloud before mozillareality/reticulum/1.0.1/20210428201255 allows remote attackers to read AWS credentials. Reticulum’s overly permissive CORS proxy accepts attacker-chosen internal URLs and forwards them to the EC2 metadata service without blocking link-local targets. No authentication or user interaction is required; exposed instance-role credentials grant the cloud permissions assigned to the app server, including asset access.
