CVE-2021-29864Network attack vector

Phishing via unvalidated redirect URL

Published Aug 30, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Open redirect in IBM Security Identity Manager 6.0.0 and 6.0.2 allows remote attackers to conduct phishing via crafted links. The web interface processes an attacker-supplied destination without restricting it to a trusted host, returning a redirect that preserves the trusted IBM URL before sending the victim to a malicious site. Exploitation requires persuading a victim to follow the crafted link and can expose sensitive information or enable further attacks, without evidence of direct server compromise.
