Denial of service in the IBM AIX kernel in AIX 7.1 and 7.2 and VIOS 3.1 allows local users to interrupt system availability. IBM identifies the affected locus as the bos.mp64 kernel fileset but has not published the faulty operation or triggering input. A non-privileged local account is required; IBM reports only denial of service and does not state whether exploitation causes a hang, crash, or reboot.
