Cross-database and file access via improper authorization
Published Dec 9, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Improper authorization in IBM Db2 9.7, 10.1, 10.5, 11.1, and 11.5 allows remote authenticated users to access other databases. The affected authorization checks govern UTL_DIR, CREATE_EXTERNAL_ROUTINE, and CREATE_NOT_FENCED_ROUTINE, but IBM has not disclosed the failing code path or operation. DBADM authority is required, after which the user can read or modify host files and data outside the authorized database.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
