CVE-2021-29665

Elevated code execution via stack buffer overflow

Published May 31, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

A stack-based buffer overflow in IBM Security Verify Access 20.07 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges. The affected component performs improper bounds checking and writes beyond a stack buffer, but IBM has not disclosed the input path or function. Local access is required, and successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code with elevated privileges.
