Stored XSS via trace-file payload injection
Published Apr 2, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Softing AG OPC Toolbox 4.10.1.13035 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in a viewer's browser. The ITEMLISTVALUES##ITEMID parameter on /en/diag_values.html is written into the trace file without neutralizing script content, which the page later renders. Exploitation requires submission of the crafted parameter, and script execution occurs when an authenticated user opens the affected diagnostic page.
