GitHub token leakage via crafted workspace URL
Published Mar 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in GistPad before 0.2.7 allows remote attackers to obtain GitHub access tokens via a crafted workspace folder. The workspace can override the Gist API URL, and GistPad sends its authenticated token to that attacker-controlled endpoint. Exploitation requires a victim to open the crafted workspace; the demonstrated consequence is credential disclosure without reported integrity or availability impact.
