CVE-2021-29598

TFLite SVDF division by zero

Published May 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

TensorFlow before 2.1.4, 2.2.0 through 2.2.2, 2.3.0 through 2.3.2, and 2.4.0 through 2.4.1 allows attackers to interrupt a process via a crafted TFLite model. The SVDF Prepare routine uses params->rank as a divisor in num_filters % rank and num_filters / rank without rejecting zero, so rank 0 triggers division by zero. Exploitation requires supplying and executing a malicious model locally; the documented consequence is process interruption rather than network compromise.
