Process crash via zero-length embedding values
Published May 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Division by zero in Google TensorFlow's TFLite EmbeddingLookup operator allows local users to crash a process with a crafted model. EvalSimple reads the value tensor's first dimension into row_size and divides the tensor's byte count by it without first rejecting zero. Exploitation requires the process to load and execute an attacker-crafted TFLite model with a zero-length first value dimension, and the documented consequence is process termination rather than data access or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
