Undefined behavior via unchecked empty shape tensor
Published May 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Improper input validation in Google TensorFlow before 2.5.0 allows attackers to trigger undefined behavior via an empty shape tensor. ParameterizedTruncatedNormal reads element zero from shape_tensor.flat() without first ensuring that the supplied shape tensor contains an element. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled tensor arguments to reach the raw operation, and the published assessment limits the resulting impact to availability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
