Heap corruption via unchecked dilation indices
Published May 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds write in Google TensorFlow allows local users to corrupt heap memory through invalid Dilation2DBackpropInput arguments. The CPU kernel writes to in_backprop at h_in_max and w_in_max without first ensuring that those indices fit the input dimensions. Reachability requires code able to invoke the TensorFlow API with crafted tensor shapes, strides, and rates; the documented result is a heap write beyond the allocated array.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
