Process termination via unchecked checkpoint-path tensor rank
Published May 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Reachable assertion in Google TensorFlow allows local users to terminate affected processes through LoadAndRemapMatrix. The kernel reads ckpt_path as a scalar without first requiring exactly one element, so a nonscalar tensor triggers the scalar() rank check. The caller must be able to execute the operation with a crafted tensor; successful exploitation aborts that TensorFlow process without reading or modifying data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
