Heap buffer overflow via unchecked channel dimensions
Published May 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Heap buffer overflow in TensorFlow Conv3DBackprop operations allows local users to crash a process through crafted tensor shapes. The conv_grad_ops_3d.cc kernels pass mismatched input, filter, and gradient channel dimensions into Eigen because they do not verify equality. Execution requires local low-privileged access and crafted tensor arguments; the published CNA assessment limits impact to a process crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
