Daemon crash via malformed numeric configuration values

Improper input validation in COVESA DLT Daemon 2.10.0 through 2.18.6 allows attackers to crash the daemon via a crafted dlt.conf. The option-file parser accepts trailing characters while scanning ring-buffer and FIFO sizes as unsigned integers, then uses the invalid values during buffer initialization. The attacker must cause the daemon to load the modified configuration, and the crash prevents dependent applications from generating DLT logs.
