CVE-2021-29432Network attack vector

Phishing emails via fixed MIME boundary

Published Apr 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Improper input validation in Sydent before 2.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to send arbitrary emails via invitation requests. The invite-mail templates used a fixed multipart MIME boundary, so attacker-controlled fields could collide with the delimiter and alter message content sent from the Sydent address. The request requires an authenticated low-privilege user and recipient interaction for phishing impact; exploitation does not provide documented server takeover or data disclosure.
