Credential disclosure via cleartext HTTP login
Published Feb 4, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cleartext credential transmission in NorthStar Club Management 6.3 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to read login credentials over HTTP. The /northstar/Admin/login.jsp endpoint submits credentials through an unencrypted HTTP channel rather than TLS, exposing them to network capture. An attacker positioned on the same network can intercept credentials in transit and use the disclosed secrets to impersonate affected users.
