Mailbox deletion via unchecked CSRF token
Published Mar 31, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Mahara 20.10 allows remote attackers to delete all inbox messages through a crafted POST request. The module/multirecipientnotification/inbox.php delete-all-notifications handler processes the state-changing POST without validating its CSRF token. Exploitation requires a signed-in victim to submit attacker-controlled content; the result is deletion of every message in that victim's inbox.
