Unauthenticated arbitrary file upload via Telerik AsyncUpload
Published Jul 7, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in GFI Mail Archiver 15.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to place files through Telerik Web UI. The Telerik.Web.UI AsyncUpload handler at Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd accepts crafted multipart data, decrypts attacker-controlled configuration with default keys, and writes the uploaded file to a server path. No authentication is required; a reachable Archiver web interface lets attackers write arbitrary files, with potential code execution or data compromise depending on IIS permissions.
