Administrator-context script execution via unencoded entity properties
Published Apr 28, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Sonatype Nexus Repository Manager 3.23 through 3.30 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through crafted entities. Entity-property values are rendered into administrator-facing pages without proper output encoding, causing attacker-controlled script to run in the NXRM application context. A local NXRM account is required to create the entity, and an administrator must view it; the script can forge requests, redirect browsing, or alter displayed content.
