Code execution via crafted-file use-after-free
Published Mar 25, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Use-after-free in Esri ArcGIS Server 10.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a crafted raster file. Image-service or raster-analytics processing triggers the memory-safety error, but Esri has not disclosed the affected parser or freed-object reuse operation. Reaching the parser requires specialized permissions and user interaction; successful exploitation runs code as the service account.
