Authenticated code execution via dangerous file upload
Published Jun 1, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Dangerous file upload in Synology Photo Station before 6.8.14-3500 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code. The file management component accepts a dangerous file type, but Synology has not disclosed the upload endpoint, validation failure, or execution path. A low-privileged authenticated account and network access to Photo Station are required; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code on the NAS.
