Reflected XSS via unsanitized asset entry identifier
Published May 17, 2021 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Reflected XSS in Liferay Portal 7.2.0 through 7.3.5 allows remote attackers to inject script via Asset Publisher requests. The Asset Publisher app reflects the assetEntryId parameter into page output without neutralizing HTML or script content; Liferay DXP 7.1 before fix pack 21, 7.2 before fix pack 10, and 7.3 before fix pack 1 is also affected. Exploitation requires a user to open an attacker-crafted request, allowing script to run in that user's browser context and read or alter page data available to the session.
