CVE-2021-29043Network attack vector

Proxy credential theft via unobfuscated settings

Published May 17, 2021 · Updated Jul 9, 2026

Credential exposure in Liferay Portal 7.0.0 through 7.3.5 and affected Liferay DXP 7.x releases allows attackers to steal an S3 proxy password. The Portal Store module renders the configured proxy password in System Settings without obfuscation, exposing the credential in readable form. Exposure requires an S3 store with a proxy password and an attacker positioned to intercept the settings traffic or observe the display.
