Script execution via unescaped report_type attribute
Published Mar 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in archive.php in SEO Panel 4.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through report_type. archive.php places the report_type value into page markup without neutralizing a quote that breaks out of its HTML attribute, allowing injected autofocus and onfocus code to run. Exploitation requires administrative access and victim interaction; the injected script runs in the victim's browser and can expose session cookies or redirect the victim.
