Stored script execution via unsanitized site title
Published Mar 24, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Plone CMS 5.2.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript in a victim's browser through a crafted site title. The site control panel stores script markup from form.widgets.site_title without neutralizing it before the title is rendered on subsequent pages. Manager access is required to save the title, and another user's interaction with a page displaying it executes code in that user's browser context.
