Database disclosure via unsanitized sort parameter
Published Apr 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in FireEye EX 3500 eMPS 9.0.1.923211 allows remote authenticated users to read its database through email search. The email-search WebGUI passes the user-controlled sort_by parameter into PostgreSQL queries without sanitization, enabling blind extraction through response codes or timing. Low-privileged monitor access and an active session suffice; testing established database read access but not stacked-query execution or data modification.
