Unauthenticated device crash via missing session identifier
Published Aug 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Null pointer dereference in TRENDnet TEW access-point firmware 1.11B03 allows remote attackers to crash the device via an HTTP request. The apply_cgi handler processes do_graph_auth without first verifying the session_id key, then dereferences the absent value. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the resulting device crash affects TEW-755AP, TEW-755AP2KAC, TEW-821DAP2KAC, and TEW-825DAP units running 1.11B03.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
