Cross-site scripting via unsanitized Gist script embeds
Published Jun 21, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Increments Qiita::Markdown before 0.34.0 allows remote attackers to execute script via a crafted Gist link. The Gist embed rule lets a gist.github.com script element pass through the FilterScript allowlist without sanitization. Exploitation requires a viewer to render attacker-controlled Markdown, enabling script execution in the viewer's browser context.
