Local privilege escalation via external artifact search
Published Jun 29, 2021 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
Runtime artifact search in affected TIBCO Spotfire server products allows local users on Windows to execute code with service privileges. The Spotfire Server and Enterprise Runtime for R components search for run-time artifacts outside their installation hierarchy and load attacker-planted software. The attack requires low-privileged local Windows access and yields the affected component's elevated privileges, up to full access at that privilege level.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
