CVE-2021-28818

Local privilege escalation via unsafe artifact search

Published Mar 23, 2021 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Artifact search flaws in TIBCO Rendezvous and Developer Edition 8.5.1 and earlier allow local users to execute code with elevated privileges. Affected daemons and APIs search for runtime artifacts outside the installation hierarchy, allowing attacker-controlled software to be selected and launched by a privileged component. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access on Windows and grants the component's privileges, potentially including full system access.
