CVE-2021-28686

Local service interrupt via driver stack overflow

Published Apr 8, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in ASUS GPU Tweak II before 2.3.0.3 allows local users to crash Windows via a crafted DeviceIoControl request. The AsIO2_64.sys and AsIO2_32.sys drivers inadequately bound attacker-controlled input handled on the kernel stack. Low-privileged access to the driver device is sufficient, and successful exploitation interrupts the affected host.
