Unauthenticated file deletion via Scan To Mailbox
Published Mar 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
File deletion in Xerox AltaLink B8045/B8090 and C8030/C8035/C8045/C8055/C8070 firmware allows remote attackers to delete files via Scan To Mailbox. The Scan To Mailbox workflow permits unauthorized selection of arbitrary disk files for deletion; Xerox has not disclosed the responsible endpoint or validation failure. Network access is sufficient, with no authentication or user interaction, and successful deletion can destroy stored data or interrupt device operation.
