Arbitrary file read via crafted file parsing
Published Aug 24, 2021 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe After Effects 18.2 and earlier allows attackers to read arbitrary files through a crafted file. Adobe has not disclosed the affected parser or the bounds-checking operation that mishandles the crafted file. Exploitation requires a user to open the file and exposes files readable in that user’s context without reported write or code-execution impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
