Unauthenticated code execution via heap buffer overflow
Published Aug 24, 2021 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Heap-based buffer overflow in Adobe After Effects 18.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a specially crafted file. The parser writes beyond a heap buffer while processing malformed file data, corrupting memory. Exploitation requires a victim to open the file, and code runs with that user's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
