Process-memory disclosure via VOB out-of-bounds read
Published Aug 20, 2021 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Adobe Media Encoder 15.2 and earlier on Windows allows attackers to disclose process memory via a crafted VOB file. The VOB parser reads beyond the end of a buffer while handling malformed file data; Adobe has not disclosed the affected function or field. Exploitation requires a victim to open the malicious file, and the documented consequence excludes integrity and availability impact.
